Get Involved!
The Minnesota Renewable Energy Society (MRES)
is a member-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The success
of the programs, events, and opportunities provided by MRES is due
to volunteer support from our members and leadership. We invite
MRES members to get involved in all of the events through becoming
a member, making a donation, volunteering for committees, events,
or projects, and by spreading the word.

Take
a Renewable Energy Class
As the Minnesota chapter of the American Solar
Energy Society (ASES), MRES has a primarily solar focus, though
not exclusively. MRES is considering offering some basic and more
advanced renewable energy workshops over the summer months and would
like to gauge interest amongst Minnesotans for these offerings.
Rent the Solar
Power Trailer
IPS
Solar and the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society (MRES) have
joined efforts to build the most versatile power supply in the state.
The Solar Power Trailer is both an educational tool and a fully
functioning power source that can provide quiet, clean, renewable
power to any site.
Create
a Community Solar Project
A community solar project allows individuals
to work together to achieve stewardship goals, to overcome the market
barriers to solar investment, and to do so in a way that builds
the capacity of community organizations or institutions. Community
groups use the installation of a solar system to strengthen the
bond that defines their community. The connection to the community
is strengthened during the planning process, as part of installation
of the system, and in rewarding and recognizing the community as
the solar system reduces greenhouse gases, lowers energy bills,
and provides a visible example of sustainability for the community
in the years after installation. This guidebook serves as a planning
aid to individuals, organizations, and communities who wish to be
part of the solution to our society's energy dilemmas, but do not
know how to take action.
