2007 Minnesota Solar Tour

Built in 1964, the 2,350-square-foot Bills-Grebe home generates 56% of its own energy through a solar electric system mounted on the roof. Two factors came to light in deciding to install a solar array: 1) To help the environment, and 2) To help the community with peak demand. Like many solar system owners, the Bills-Grebes plan to install more solar — in fact this fall they will install roof-mounted solar collectors to help with their hot water needs.
