Conservation needs and pollution issues facing this nation was the motivation for Mike Smith to outfit his home with solar. The solar electric panels generate a good percentage of this home's electrical needs. And the solar thermal system has waste water heat recovery with coils around the waste water pipe and air preheating capability by circulation of solar hot water pipes through the furnace cold air intake.
