The only barn-mounted installation on this
year's tour, Pigkiss Farm anticipates 100% of their electrical needs
to be met through their 2 kW solar array plus their 10 kW wind turbine.
Motivated by a long time interest in alternative energy research
and systems and a desire to be more energy consumption neutral,
the site owners have cut installation costs by taking on parts of
the installation themselves.
