The Willet residence installation was based
on inspiration. With the desire to mitigate global warming and avoid
increased grid transmission, a 2.72 kW photovoltaic array was chosen.
Before installing the solar electric array, conservation measures
were taken to enhance the overall performance of the system. The
home saw a facelift with an energy audit, Energy Star refrigerator,
compact fluorescent lightbulbs, and fixed insulation. Best Power,
LLC, then installed a 2.72 kW solar array that fulfills 80–100%
of the household's energy needs each day.
