Putting Green Environmental Adventure Park

20th Street South

New Ulm, MN

Putting Green Park combines outdoor family recreation with environmental learning. The park focuses on teaching sustainability and the featured attraction is miniature golf! Each of the holes teach about a particular natural resource and choices we can make to be better stewards of that resource. Youth and adults have been working together with environmental science experts and design professionals to design all elements of the Park, including the miniature golf course, building and landscaping, and the business plan. Putting Green Park's youth Eco-Preneurs operated the park during the Summer 2006 season. The Clubhouse is powered by solar electric panels that save as much CO2 from the atmosphere as 105 trees. Over a 30 year life-span, this system will prevent 45,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide from being emitted into our atmosphere.
