2006 Minnesota Solar Tour

This 3 kW grid-tied photovoltaic system, which was installed three years ago, offsets all of the homeowners' current electricity needs over the course of each year. As part of their project they rebuilt their top floor and roof, using a lot of salvage material and changing its orientation so that the roof faced south and north, instead of east and west.

From the Green Institute, head north on 21st Avenue and turn right at 28th Street. Turn left (north) at Hiawatha Avenue. Turn right at 26th Street. Turn left at 24th Avenue. Turn right at 25th Street.

From I-94, take the Riverside Avenue exit and go south on Riverside. Cross Franklin to 29th Avenue. Continue on 29th to 25th Street (3rd stop sign) and take a right. Site is the third house on the left.
