At Como
Park Zoo & Conservatory, the majority of the interior siding
and countertops are made with recycled materials. All water from
the new building is collected and reused. Some will land on green
roof planters, but the overflow will be collected in an underground
cistern. Photovoltiac cells are placed in the glass of the fern
room providing both shade and power.
