2006 Minnesota Solar Tour
Saturday, October 7, 2006
Sponsored by the Minnesota Renewable Energy
Society (MRES), a non-profit and all-volunteer organization, the
self-guided Minnesota Solar Tour has inspired building owners to adopt
the renewable energy habit. The Tour features exemplary homes, businesses,
and institutions that have incorporated renewable energy into the
design and operation of their buildings. From geothermal heat pumps
using the earth as a huge thermal buffer to wind turbines elegantly
spinning in the breeze and the many incarnations of solar energy
between earth and sky, this event will showcase different ways individuals
and groups are working towards a sustainable energy future. Along
the way, talk to neighbors, builders, architects, planners, and
politicians about ways to conserve energy and make renewables a
reality.
We invite you to join us on the next Minnesota Solar Tour. See renewable energy technology in action, and
meet people who have learned from experience.
Tour Sites
The following are the sites included in the
2006 Minnesota Solar Tour. All sites are open from 10:00 a.m. until
5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7. The Como Park Zoo & Conservatory
(Site 6) is open until 4:00 p.m.
